Mikee NadoraNAME: Mikee Nadora

AGE: 16

WHEN DID YOU START DANCING? I started dancing at 2 and a half, dancing on top of tables at birthday parties. Though, I formally started hip hop classes at 11 and jazz at 13.

COMPANIES YOU HAVE BEEN IN? I am now a part of NW Fusion, and was a part of Westside Dance Academy’s Performing Company.

FAVORITE STYLE OF DANCE? Hip hop, my first love.

WHY DO YOU DANCE? I dance because it gives me a purpose and makes me feel unique. It gave me an identity and confidence. I dance to celebrate how far I’ve gotten. I also dance for my brother and sister because they’ve told me I’m their inspiration, and I don’t want to let them down.

DO YOU HOPE TO PURSUE DANCE AS A CAREER? Hopefully, yes. My goal with dance is to take it day by day, continually improving. I’ll just go where it takes me, accepting all the opportunities dance brings. Wherever I end up, is where I was meant to be.

BEST DANCE MEMORY? The first time I performed on stage; it was recital and I was 11 in my pink, sparkly costume. I didn’t even think of getting the moves right. I remember being so happy to be up there, so comfortable even though it was my first time. I got off stage and felt the adrenaline die down. Now every time I perform, I always look back to my first performance and crave that feeling.

“Do your best, and God will do the rest.”
